PROFILE:
Professor Dana Roach joined the Wayne State University Law School faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor in August 2006. She teaches the Small Business Enterprises and Nonprofit Corporations Clinic which she established at the Law School in January 2007. Professor Roach is also the Director of the Damon J. Keith Law Collection of African-American Legal History at Wayne State University.
Prior to teaching at Wayne, Professor Roach was a Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan Law School during the 2005-2006 school year and taught in the Urban Communities Clinic. Prior to teaching at the University of Michigan Law School, she was a regional attorney for The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in San Francisco, California where she represented TNC on land conservation transactions and other legal matters.
Professor Roach’s other legal experience includes working as an attorney at Morrison & Foerster LLP in San Francisco, California in its commercial real estate group and as an attorney at Miller, Starr & Regalia in Walnut Creek, California in its real estate and transactional group.
Professor Roach received her A.B. from Bryn Mawr College and her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. During law school, she served as a contributing editor of the Michigan Law Review. She also participated in the South Africa externship program and worked in South Africa with a non-governmental organization at the University of the Western Cape researching sexual assault laws in various jurisdictions to reform South Africa’s sexual assault legislation.
