The Law School has no requirements with respect to the content of pre-legal education. English, political science, engineering, biology, education, music, history and accounting are just a few of the diverse disciplines that provide excellent preparation for the study of law. Analytical skills and proficiency in the English language, both written and spoken, provide the foundation for legal studies. Our Admissions Committee, in considering J.D. applicants, will take into account the nature of the applicant's college work, the grades achieved and the competitiveness of the undergraduate institution.

Suggestions for pre-law preparation in The ABA-LSAC Official Guide to ABA-Approved Law Schools are excellent. The guide contains material on the legal profession, the study of law and information on each American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school. It is available on the LSAC website at www.lsac.org and at most bookstores and libraries. LSAC’s Discover Law campaign is another wonderful resource for pre-law preparation and provides tips and resources on how to prepare a competitive application for law school.  You can register today at www.discoverlaw.org.
