Murray R. FeldmanMurray R. Feldman, ’73, a senior shareholder in the Bloomfield Hills law firm of Strobl & Sharp P. C., has been elected Chairperson of the Workers' Compensation Section of the State Bar of Michigan.

Mark FrankelMark Frankel, ’88, a trial attorney for more than 20 years, is a candidate for the Oakland County Probate Court. Frankel was elected to the State Bar Representative Assembly. He is a member of the Probate Alliance, has acted as a probate receiver, as a probate facilitator, and as an Oakland County approved facilitator and discovery master. He also serves as a special fiduciary and trustee. Frankel has published articles in professional legal journals as well as being a moderator on cable television. He has acted as a city prosecuting attorney for several municipalities. Presently, he is a member of the Inns of the Court and actively participates in county and federal pro bono programs.

Brendan FreyBrendan H. Frey, ’07,has joined the law firm Bator Berlin & Gwinn, P.C., in Birmingham, Mich., as an associate attorney. Before joining the firm, Frey interned with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Frey represents non-profit corporations that provide residential and support services to persons living with disabilities throughout the state of Michigan.

The Honorable Eugene Friedman, ’58, retired in December as a magistrate in 46th District Court, which serves Southfield, Lathrup Village, Beverly Hills, Franklin Village, Bingham Farms and Southfield Township. Friedman, a Southfield resident, had held his position since January 1984.

Jeff Fanto, ’81, along with partner, David Keith, started JTC Realty Group, LLC, a real estate office working with residential and commercial customers. His law practice continues.  Both are located in Livonia, Michigan.

Brian P. FoleyBrian P. Foley,’07, has joined the firm in the Real Estate Group in the Troy office. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan. Prior to joining the firm, he was a student attorney with the Free Legal Aid Clinic; a research associate with the Michigan State University Land Policy Program; and a graduate assistant with the Michigan State University Department of Agricultural Economics.

David R. Fernstrum and Eric S. Richards, members of Mika Meyers Beckett & Jones PLC and Wayne State University Law School alumni, were selected to be listed in the publication of Michigan Super Lawyers 2007 Magazine. Super Lawyers is an annual listing which recognizes lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection of the Super Lawyers is performed by a blue ribbon panel and a survey of active lawyers in Michigan. Only 5 percent of Michigan attorneys were selected as Michigan Super Lawyers.

Michael D. FishmanMichael D. Fishman (Birmingham), a founding member of Rader, Fishman & Grauer PLLC, was named a MICHIGAN SUPER LAWYER by Law & Politics, a national journal of legal and political issues. Fishman is consistently ranked one of the top trademark filers in the U.S. His practice focuses on maximizing opportunities for trademark licensing and worldwide trademark protection. He has served on the editorial board of the Trademark Reporter published by the U.S. Trademark Association. He holds a J.D. from Wayne State University Law School and a bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University.

Howard & Howard Attorneys P.C. is pleased to announce that Christopher M. Francis has joined the firm.  He will practice in the firm’s Bloomfield Hills office.  Francis concentrates his practice in patent, trademark and copyright law with an emphasis on obtaining and enforcing patents for clients.  He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  He earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University in 2002 and a law degree from Wayne State University in 2006.  He was an intern in Howard & Howard’s Intellectual Property Intern Program from June 2004 to December 2006.  From 2002 to 2004, Francis worked for General Motors as a vehicle assembly engineer where he applied statistical problem solving techniques to identify and eliminate vehicle initial quality and warranty issues.  During his undergraduate education, he worked as a co-op engineer for TRW Automotive in the area of brake actuation development.  Francis also worked during his undergraduate education as an engineering intern at General Motors in the area of Aero/Thermal/Sealant/Splash development.  He has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in numerous mechanical technologies including medical devices, automotive steering components, automotive suspension components, automotive driveline components, automotive seating and headrest assemblies, building HVAC systems, building entry-way systems, and machining devices.
