Peter D. HoukJudge Peter D. Houk, ’69, former Ingham County Circuit Court Chief, addressed the annual State Bar of Michigan’s Negligence Law Section Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 4. Judge Houk is a shareholder with Fraser Trebilcock Davis & Dunlap P.C. and was one of three former judges asked to participate in a panel discussion on Alternative Dispute Resolution by Mediation and Arbitration.

Todd A. HollemanTodd A. Holleman, ’99, a principal in the Detroit office of Miller Canfield, recently authored "Settlement of Cases on Appeal," published in the winter edition of Appellate Practice Journal of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation. Holleman focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation matters. He specializes in securities litigation and arbitration, commercial contract disputes, state and federal court appeals, construction litigation and equipment leasing litigation.

Howard HertzHoward Hertz, ’76, of Bloomfield Hills-based Hertz Schram, PC, was among the selections of Michigan Super Lawyers in the 2007 issue of Law & Politics. This is the second consecutive year that he has been received this honor. Hertz, who formed the law firm of Hertz Schram PC with Bradley Schram in 1979, specializes in entertainment law and is the lead attorney of the firm’s Entertainment Practice Group.

Jennifer Van HornJennifer Van Horn, ’95, a senior attorney in Miller Canfield’s Grand Rapids and Lansing offices, was recently elected to the advisory board of the Jane Hibbard Idema Women’s Studies Center at Aquinas College. Van Horn practices domestic relations, personal injury and tort litigation, employment, product liability, and commercial litigation.

Jeffrey C. Hicks, ’97, of the Lansing firm Hicks, Mullett & Gregg, PLLC was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Hicks will serve on the Executive Committee as Legal Counsel. His practice is primarily focused on real property and business law.

Lee HornbergerLee Hornberger, '82, an arbitrator and mediator in Traverse City, has been appointed to the Grand Traverse County Board of Canvassers. He is the author of "The Impact of the Due Process Protocol Principles on Arbitration of Statutory Employment Disputes," Labor and Employment Lawnotes (Fall 2007). He is President of the Grand Traverse-Leelanau-Antrim Bar Association.

Howard HertzHoward Hertz, ’76, co-founder of Bloomfield Hills-based Hertz, Schram P.C. (www.hertzschram.com), was recently recognized for two prestigious legal honors. For the second consecutive year, Hertz was named one of Michigan’s Super Lawyers by Law & Politics in its 2007 issue of Michigan Super Lawyers as an Entertainment and Sports Law practitioner.  He was also selected for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America 2008.
