Kuryakin C. Rucker, ’06, has joined The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio, as a Field Negotiator. He is responsible for negotiating labor agreements for all of the company's unionized retail locations and commerical tire centers. Before joining Goodyear, Kuryakin was a Labor Relations Specialist in the Cleveland, Ohio, office of The Dominion East Ohio Gas Company, where he provided labor relations support for over 1,200 bargaining unit employees throughout the state of Ohio.

Bradley Raymond, ’77, has been privileged to serve as General Counsel to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters since January 2006. His predecessor in that position, Patrick J. Szymanski, ’76, has since roughly the same time frame been serving as General Counsel to the Change to Win federation, the group that was formed by the Teamsters, Service Employees, UFCW, UNITE HERE, Carpenters, Laborers and Farmworkers when they withdrew from the AFL-CIO in 2005.

Teresa Stanek Rea, ’80, was recently welcomed by Crowell & Moring LLP to its internationally recognized Intellectual Property Group. Rea, former co-chair of Buchanan Ingersoll's Intellectual Property Executive Committee and chair of its Biotechnology Practice Group, focuses her practice on complex patent litigation and inter partes matters, as well as patent procurement and portfolio management, including patent preparation and prosecution. Rea is a former pharmacist who has corporate experience as a patent attorney for a multinational chemical company. She has extensive experience in drafting infringement and validity opinions and licensing matters. In October of 2008, Rea will become president of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA); she is currently president-elect.

Raines is the executive director of The Jewish Fund, a grant making foundation that was created from the sale of Sinai Hospital in 1997. David R. Fernstrum and Eric S. Richards, members of Mika Meyers Beckett & Jones PLC and Wayne State University Law School alumni, were selected to be listed in the publication of Michigan Super Lawyers 2007 Magazine. Super Lawyers is an annual listing which recognizes lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection of the Super Lawyers is performed by a blue ribbon panel and a survey of active lawyers in Michigan. Only 5 percent of Michigan attorneys were selected as Michigan Super Lawyers.

Eric S. Richards, a Wayne State University alumnus and member of the law firm Mika Meyers Beckett & Jones PLC, was recently appointed to the Board of the Cascade Community Foundation. The Cascade Community Foundation builds permanent endowment funds that directly benefit the township in the areas of community development, social needs, recreation, arts and culture and education.
