Robert  WrightRobert E.L. Wright, ’80, an attorney-mediator in the Grand Rapids office of Miller Canfield, was recently elected chairman of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Section of the Grand Rapids Bar Association.Wright has over 25 years’ experience in litigation for plaintiffs and defendants with particular emphasis in alternative dispute resolution and commercial litigation, including bankruptcy. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, 2006, 2007 and 2008 editions, as well as Michigan Super Lawyers 2006 and 2007 editions, for his work as a mediator.

Sheldon WinkelmanSheldon Winkelman, ’63, a partner in the Real Estate Department of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP (Honigman), has been elected President of the Michigan Housing Council for a one-year term. Winkelman has more than four decades experience working on a wide variety of commercial real estate and financing transactions with an emphasis on government-assisted housing.  His other areas of practice include: Gaming and Hospitality; Tribal Sovereignty and Development; Affordable Housing; and Government Assisted Financing. Listed in the 2008 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, as well as 2007 Michigan Super Lawyers, Winkelman has authored several articles on market rate and affordable housing that have been published in the Michigan Bar Journal and the Journal of the Real Estate Section of the Michigan Bar Association.

Anne Bagno WidlakAnne Bagno Widlak, ’83, has joined Detroit-based employment law firm Nemeth Burwell, P.C.  She is well known in Detroit-area legal circles and has a strong background in employment law.  Immediately prior to joining Nemeth Burwell, Widlak had been a partner in the Detroit office of Fraser Trebilcock Davis & Dunlap, P.C. She joins Nemeth Burwell as a Partner, focusing on a variety of employment law issues on the management side.  She has substantial experience representing employers in employment litigation in both state and federal courts as well as before administrative agencies.

Watson's practice focuses on commercial finance, specializing in the representation of financial institutions in commercial, real estate and construction lending transactions.  Before joining Dykema, Watson managed the commercial section of the legal department of LaSalle Bank Midwest, a Bank of America company.

Marc WiseMarc Wise, ’93, was recently named a shareholder of Maddin, Hauser, Wartell, Roth & Heller P.C. He concentrates his practice in the areas of employee benefits, business planning and taxation. Wise has extensive experience in the design, financing, implementation and correction of pension and welfare benefit plans for large multi-state employers as well as smaller local employers. As part of his practice, he represents clients in Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Department of Labor and Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation audits and investigations. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan's Taxation and Employee Benefits sections.
