21 st annual Ambulance Chase Oct. 11

Wayne State University Law School is pleased to announce that the 21 st annual Ambulance Chase Charity Run/Walk will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 beginning at 5 p.m. in front of the Law School .

The Ambulance Chase consists of either a 2.2 mile run or a one mile “Warrior Walk” around the WSU campus, behind a real ambulance.  The cost to participate is $20.  Participants receive a t-shirt and are also invited to a post-run barbeque.  The event is a way to raise funds for a worthy cause while poking fun at the stereotype of the “ambulance-chasing lawyer.”

All profits from the 2006 run/walk will be donated to the Wayne County chapter of the Michigan Court Appointed Special Advocate Association (CASA).  CASA volunteers assist abused and neglected children navigate through the child welfare system.

Each year the profits from the Chase are donated to a local charity.  In 2005, 143 registered walkers and runners raised over $4,200 for Rise Sister Rise, a breast cancer support group.

The Chase is sponsored by the WSU Law School Student Bar Association Board of Governors.  Each October, the American Bar Association chooses a worthy cause and encourages each ABA approved law school's students to support the cause in their local area.
