The Urban Experience
The Law School's location in the heart of one of the nation's largest metropolitan areas gives students almost limitless social and cultural opportunities. Detroit is a city with history— and a future. Founded as a trading post over 300 years ago, the city is famous for being the birthplace of the automotive industry and of Motown. In recent years, the city has gone through a revival. New housing, businesses, and entertainment venues abound. The revitalized city gives students a variety of choices for their free time. Visit a museum in the Cultural Center , catch a show in the Theatre District, or sample international cuisine in one of our diversrse ethic enclaves; or you can put it all together at one of our many ethnic festivals and taste fests.
Detroit also shares an international border with Windsor, Ontario, providing students access to numerous Canadian parks, restaurants, museums, and other social and cultural opportunities.
